‌집의 시작은 무엇이 필요한가를 고민하기 보다는 무엇을 놓치고 살아왔는지에 대한 회고에서 출발하였다. 공간의 프로그램을 고민하기 보다는 무엇을 느끼고 무엇을 보고 무엇을 들을 것인가에 대한 근원적 질문을 우선으로 하였다. 인공적인 것들과 다소 멀어지기 위해서 TV나 컴퓨터 등 문명생활의 기기는 최소화 되거나 숨겨져 있다. 대신, 우리는 어느 곳에서나 자연을 볼 수 있게 하였고, 떨어지는 빗소리를 들을 수 있게 처마를 만들고, 바람 부는 것을 느낄 수 있는 그늘진 마당을 만들었다. 마치 유아가 처음으로 무언가를 보고 들으면서 세상을 인지하게 되는 과정과 같이 다시 모든 것을 경험하게 하는 집을 만들고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 클라이언트는 어린 시절에 자라났던 옛집에서 직접 심었던 나무를 이곳 새집의 앞마당으로 옮겨왔다. 새집이지만 과거의 시간과 연속되는 장소를 만듦으로써, 단순하게 살집이 아닌, 추억과 과거가 연속되는 집이 작은 언덕 위에 완성되었다.Placeness 대지의 위치는 접근하기에 편하지 않지만, 주변이 도시화 되고 있는 상황 속에서도 여전히 내밀한 곳에 숨겨져 있다. 작은 언덕 위에 입지하여서 매우 좋은 경관을 유지하고 있다.Two orientations – feng shui 대지가 강을 만나듯, 건물도 강물을 바라보았다. 풍수를 고려한 건물 방향과 실용적인 건물 방향의 차이를 해소하기 위해서, 두 개의 방향을 중첩시킨 후에 파노라마 경관을 내부까지 받아들였다. 언덕을 오르듯이 집의 내부도 오르면서 프라이버시가 좀 더 내밀해진다.Contrast 전면과 후면이곳 마을이 점점 외부로 알려지면서 정체성이 변화하고 있다. 강변 주위와 마을 안쪽에 상업시설들이 들어오면서, 방문자들이 늘고 있다. 점점 번잡해지고 있는 도로 쪽으로는 다소 폐쇄적인 물성으로 외부와 분리를 시켰으나, 반대편인 강변 쪽은 매우 개방적이다. 외부에서 보이는 것과 내부에서 경험하는 것의 차이가 매우 뚜렷하다.Organized Nature내부의 공간들은 마당이나 중정같은 외부공간으로 둘러 쌓이거나 교차되면서 배열되어 있다. 자연이 깊숙이 들어온 작은 사이 공간들은 무거움과 가벼움, 밝음과 어두움, 열림과 닫힘 등을 만들어내면서 자연과 건물을 교감시킨다.Nostalgic memories 새집이지만 익숙한 집을 만들고자 하였다. 따듯한 봄날의 툇마루, 여름에 시원한 마루, 달빛 비치는 창호지문, 겨울 밤의 차가운 바람소리 등을 재해석하면서 장소를 만들었다. 단순한 건물이 아닌, 과거와 대화하는 장소를 만들었다. 어린 시절에 심었던 단풍나무를 멀리 시골집에서 옮겨와서 이곳에 심었다. 추억을 가진 사물을 의인화하여, 장소에 시간을 가져왔다.비로소 집을 짓는 것이 축제가 되었다. 기능적 필요뿐만 아니라, 정서적 갈증을 채우게 되면서 집은 친구가 되었다. 섬세하게 재료와 색상을 선택하면서 축제를 준비했다.

‌The beginning of the house began with a recollection of what we had missed rather than what we needed. Instead of worrying about the program of space, I gave priority to the fundamental question about what to feel, what to see and what to listen to. Civilization devices such as TVs and computers are minimized or hidden in order to stay away from artificial things. Instead, we made it possible to see nature everywhere, create eaves to hear the falling rain, and create a shady yard where we could feel the wind. We wanted to create a house that would experience everything again like a process where a child would see and hear the world for the first time. In addition, the client moved the tree he planted directly from the old house that grew up in his childhood to the front yard of the new house. It is a new house, but by creating a place that is continuous with the past time, the house where the experience and the memories intersect, rather than merely life, is completed on the small hill.Placeness The location of the site is not easy to access, but it is still hidden in the confines of the surrounding urbanization. It is located on a small hill and maintains a very good viewTwo orientations As the earth meets the river, the building also looks at the river. In order to solve the difference between the building direction considering the feng shui and the practical building direction, the panoramic view was taken up to the inside after superimposing the two directions. As you climb the hill, the inside of the house also climbs, making your privacy more intimate.ContrastAs the town becomes more and more known outside, its identity is changing. As commercial facilities enter riverside and in the village, visitors are increasing. On the road becoming increasingly crowded, it is separated from the outside by a somewhat closed nature, but on the opposite side, the river side is very open. The difference between what you see outside and what you experience inside is very clear.Organized NatureThe internal spaces are arranged around or surrounded by external spaces such as yards or courtyards. The small spaces in which nature comes in deeply interact with nature and building, creating heaviness and lightness, lightness and darkness, opening and closing.MemoryI wanted to build a new house but familiar. The place was reinterpreted such as the warm springtime ridges, cool summer floors, moonlighting window prints, and the cold windy sound of winter nights. It was not a simple building, but a place to communicate with the past. The maple tree planted in childhood moved away from the country house and was planted here.
